A Gospel Community (GC for short) is a group of people who live and experience life together in response to the Gospel by loving, challenging, and building one another up into the image of Christ while intentionally seeking the lost.
Gospel Communities are our way of living out New Testament Church life. You could say that they are our small groups, but they are not just small groups or a program to attend. This is our way of living like family on mission.
A Response to the Gospel
The Gospel is key and ongoing. We will never outgrow our need for the Gospel. Everything that a GC is and does is a response to who Jesus is, and what He has done (Colossians 1:15-23; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Romans 1:16-17, 5:8, 8:1).
GC's are the main way that we connect with others and live together on mission. This is where you can establish and sustain authentic relationships with others, mutually encouraging and building one another up (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11). As each GC grows together, they will identify a people, group, or places in which they will intentionally love, serve, and share Jesus with (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). This may be local schools, neighborhoods, or coffee shops. This is not something to add to our busy lives, but an everyday life of Gospel intentionality.
